The MultiFaith Alliance to End Homelessness is the unified voice of members of faith communities that include Aboriginal people, Anglican, B'hai, Baptist, Catholic, Hindu, Jain, Jewish, Mennonite, Muslim, Pentecostal, Salvation Army, Tibetan Buddhist, Unitarian, and United Church, and members of like-minded community organizations. They are working to end homelessness in the City of Toronto and the greater Toronto area. They have continuously met and urged municipal, provincial and federal MPs, MPPs and government officials to act decisively in meeting the needs of people for decent affordable housing; in asking persons of goodwill to join their voice to theirs in this common cause; and in partnering with others to improve housing conditions for people in need. Their actions are motivated and guided by MFATEH�s Declaration and Call to Action based on the fundamental dignity and worth of every human being, and that the care of poor and vulnerable people of all ages is a central tenet of our respective teachings and traditions, of good government, and of responsible, compassionate citizenship. Center of Concern
The Center of Concern is a faith-based organization working in collaboration with ecumenical and interfaith networks to bring a prophetic voice for social and economic justice to a global context. Caritas Internationalis is the international Catholic social justice, solidarity and emergency relief network that promotes peace and reconciliation, responds to emergencies worldwide, furthers economic justice, advocates for action to lessen threats posed by climate change, works for an end to HIV and AIDS and has a special focus on justice issues related to women in the global south and international migration.
There are 165 members of Caritas Internationalis, representing Church organizations involved in solidarity and international development such as the Canadian Catholic Organization for Development and Peace which is Caritas Canada. Pope John Paul II granted it canonical legal status to Caritas Internationalis. Its headquarters are in Vatican City, and has representatives at the United Nations in New York and Geneva, Rome, and Paris. In 165 countries, Caritas member organizations work together with people without regard to race or religion. Caritas members directly help 24 million people a year in 200 countries and territories.
CIDSE
CIDSE is an international alliance of Catholic development agencies working together for global justice. 16 catholic development organisations from Europe & North America, inspired by shared Christian values, come together under the CIDSE umbrella to promote global justice and solidarity.
