MULTIFAITH ALLIANCE TO END HOMELESSNESS TOGETHER WITH THE WELLESLEY INSTITUTE HAS LAUNCHED A SERIES OF WORKSHOPS ON ADVOCACY TRAINING
The MultiFaith Alliance to End Homelessness together with the Wellesley Institute has launched a series of workshops to help train people to do advocacy.
MFATEH will be offering the following workshop sessions:
1. Advocacy 101
An overview of what we mean by advocacy and how to get what you need from government
2. Defining the Key Messages
What are key messages? How and when do you use them? Planning an advocacy strategy.
3. Communicating the Message
What to say, and how to use media: using media strategy, letter to the editor, the Op-Ed, responding to the press and when to call the press.
4. Talking to Government
The ten second message, the five minute message. Inviting them or going to their office: how to get the meeting, who to take, what to say and following protocol.
