ISARC QUEEN'S PARK VIGIL
In anticipation of the release of the 2009 Provincial Budget, the Interfaith Social Assistance Reform Coalition (ISARC) has launched a Prayer Vigil at Queen's Park that began on March 3rd and will continue until March 26th when the Budget is presented.
The intent of the Vigil is gather people from the many faiths represented here in Toronto to pray for the Members of the Ontario Legislative Assembly (MPPs) and for the rising number of poor and marginalized in our society.
Groups and faith leaders have already begun the Vigil. People can still participate in the Vigil that runs until March 26th.
They need only go to the ISARC website to participate in a morning, Noontime or afternoon time for the Vigil.
Some groups have booked mornings, afternoons and entire days. The Vigil on March 10th has been designated as "Vincentian Day" to highlight the involvement of Toronto Central Council of the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
